My wife and I are 57 and have no biological children of our own. I am seeking to relocate my wife and I to an area much more compatible with our faith and way of life before 2028. Unfortunately, I find myself currently unable to do that without going into debt or hoping for an inheritance. We have lived in the same location for what will soon will be over 25 years but find our house is likely worth less than we will need to move to a duplex we wish to buy in an Amish Mennonite area. We want to reestablish in a more independent simple living way of life with the ability to live completely off the grid if we need to. I attached a picture of something similar I might like to do in the portion of the backyard that we would use. Though the included picture is NOT the property--you get the concept of what I am thinking. Key difference, our property however, I am hoping to build a small hydroponic greenhouse for my wife to be able to grow her favorite food (year round if needed) and maybe add solar panels and some of the things in the picture like garden boxes. We have found a very compatible community that has all the types of things my wife might want and even the right blend of modernity for us as we get older. It is a literal answer to my prayers--the duplex, property, and community that we have identified. Our values match very closely as well. Though it is not listed yet--I have sent a letter of interest to the property owner expressing an interest in the property if the owner might be interested in selling in the next 24 months. We are committed Christians and have found a more conservative Mennonite church there as well we hope to join upon relocation. We cannot even hope to live out our faith anymore in our current circumstances in illinois and it has grown more difficult the longer we stay in illinois. We barely got vaccine exemptions for example during the last crisis. We also cannot afford enough property to do anything like what I described here. We also except for ourselves have no Amish Mennonite community which we desire greatly. We want the community that can only be found in those areas now. We have tried the best we could to live our faith here but we have been unable to. We have wind and solar, though grid provided. We have opted out of the affordable care act. We have also opted out of any incompatible union affiliations. I have tried my best to make our community reflect better Christian values and salvation for all of our sakes but none of these things have had the effect we really need going into our old age. We really need to relocate now and have a community of Mennonite and Amish brothers, sisters and children. We also cannot become any more dependent on the way of life we wish to leave. I am no longer able to find suitable work given my age and health let alone compatible work in this area either and have been unemployed for a year and a half now but have not taken any government assistance such as unemployment. However there is compatible work I can do in the area we are relocating to for example as an Amish taxi or building my benches (see picture:  https://www.ebay.com/itm/266993427153)   With all that in mind and whatever is not listed here that you might be able to discern through prayer, please help us relocate, Lord willing. Any amount will help even if we have to buy a lesser property or rent instead of buy.  The goal is really sucessful and sustainable relocation.
