A few months ago, my wife purchased a used Hyundai Tuscon 2018 to be our family vehicle. She loved the look and feel of the car, there was enough space for her wheelchair and our two young children, and was so happy to own a car again after many years.

Unfortunately, after 35 days, the car's engine began knocking heavily. Five days after our dealership warranty ran out, we discover that the engine's issues had been masked by an additive substance that suppressed the sound. Now, with the car loan barely started, we are facing an additional $5000 estimate for a new engine.

The dealership won't take responsibility. Hyundai won't help us since we aren't part of any recalls. Legal action is too expensive for us. I just want to get my wife's car back for her. I hate to ask for help hat-in-hand like this, but I don't have any other options.
