Tis the season of giving for a good cause! We would like to invite you to share that bountiful blessings to others.

On behalf of the alumni of the Adventist University of the Philippines Northern California we would like to thank you for keeping this fund raising in your thoughts and prayers.

This coming December 8-16, 2023, the Philippine Meistersingers are bringing their repertoire of Holiday Season, Classical and Sacred music to the Sacramento area. We believe that the music they will bring will provide encouragement and strength in your faith in God and to give you hope.

The Philippine Meistersingers is composed of 26 members. The funds raised will go to the chorale’s current tour expenses and operational costs in the Philippines promoting Adventist education, music ministry to various churches, and evangelistic meetings.

These members are blessed with beautiful voices. They are also students and alumni of the  Adventist University of the Philippines.

With your donation to the the Philippine Meistersingers, we know you will be blessed by a thousand fold of your kindness this Holiday Season and all year round. Your donation will be much appreciated. Thank you very much, and we appreciate your generosity.

We will update this fundraising with photos and videos of their concert tour because you have been a part of their success.

It is our prayer that our Heavenly Father bless you abundantly in all things at all times just as these Bible promises has been given to us in Psalms 31:19 (NIV): “How abundant are the good things that you have stored up for those who fear you, that you bestow in the sight of all, on those who take refuge in you.” and, 2 Corinthians 9:8 (NIV) “And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.”

Thanking God for your generosity,

Northern California AUP Alumni

On behalf of the Philippine Meistersingers, thank you very much for the donations each of you sent to make this Northern California Tour 2023 a success. The choral group had performed in various locations in Northern California, wherein they provided the sounds of Christmas to Auburn SDA Church, A Fund Raising Concert for the Pathfinders of Granite Bay Hilltop SDA Church. On their third performance, the Philippine Meistersingers performed in Harris Center, to showcase their wide variety of music repertoire for "Seasons of the Heart". Due to full house performance in Harris Center, a request for their Gala Show was repeated in Auburn, California for people who were not able to see their performance this was their fourth in Northern California. The beautiful Christmas atmosphere of the Capitol State has brought "angelic" voices as commented by State employees as the Philippine Meistersingers sang for the Christmas Holiday Music in the Capitol. This is a yearly tradition done for over 20 years, and the choral group has been invited to sing. We want to thank the Capitol Staff for being such a gracious host. The following day, they visited Lodi Adventist Academy and performed for the elementary students for an hour of music, and who wouldn't enjoy such fun interpretation of the "12 Days of Christmas"! Laughter and joy filled the auditorium. Under the leadership of Ramon Molina Lijauco Jr, and the Philippine Meistersingers, provided a vocal workshop for the Academy as well to share their knowledge in proper techniques in singing. Their last stop was in Milpitas, California to showcase their beautiful "Seasons of the Heart" concert to the Bay Area. The success came through your generous support to the choral group. Thank you very much to all of you! "May joy and peace surround you, contentment latch your door, and happiness be with you, and bless you evermore." (Irish Blessing)

Update #4 "Voices of Christmas Cheer: Supporting our Choir's Christmas Carol Concert"

It was September 2022 when the Philippine Meistersingers visited San Francisco, California and as they were rehearsing a song in Hawk Hill, a cyclist stopped and heard them sing. He wondered who these people were. Upon inquiry, he later found out from the choir that they were touring California for a series of concert events.

The man expressed how he missed these events. With eager requests, he asked if they could sing a song for him. Gladly, the Philippine Meistersingers did! They chose the song “When I Fall In Love”.

After they sang, the cyclist responded that the song had made him realize how important his marriage was to his wife. He said, “I am going to tell my wife that we will go out for dinner tonight!”.

Wherever they go, they love to sing from their heart and share their music to people with hopes of inspiring, encouraging and giving hope in life to people.

As they were dropped off in Sacramento that evening, the kind deeds did not stop there. The group noticed a group of homeless people. Coming from a foreign country, they have seen it and they understood how that feels being out in cold weather and no food to eat. The group decided to share their food and snacks with these homeless people. It was such a nice and generous act of kindness that they have done for these people, even if it was just one meal for their dinner to help satisfy their hunger. It was well appreciated by the homeless.

Thank you Philippine Meistersingers!

Update #2 Tis the Season to Give: Back Our Choir's Christmas Concert

This coming December the Philippine Meistersingers will be presenting a sacred concert in Auburn Seventh-Day Adventist Church. We have received word that the congregation are excited and feel blessed for the choir to visit their church for the very first time and cannot wait to hear them sing!

Did you know that the  Auburn Seventh-Day Adventist Church was established in 1923?

In 1923, two or three faithful Seventh-day Adventists started meeting together in a room at a wrecking yard. The group soon outgrew the space and moved to the Masonic Hall above the Mortuary on Commercial Street. With 26 charter members, the Auburn Seventh-day Adventist Church was organized on November 10, 1928. Tired of airing out the smoke and cleaning up after Friday night parties, the group moved to the Boy Scout building off Hwy 49 where they met for 2 years and started a church school. They then moved to the First Baptist Church on East Placer Street, then to the Pioneer Methodist Church on Lincoln Way.

Dr. & Mrs. Kindopp donated property on Center Street to the church and thanks to the devoted and hard work of many members they celebrated their first Sabbath in the new church of their own church building on May 20, 1939. It was then dedicated a few years later in 1944, entirely free of debt. The church had a seating capacity of 250 but by April 15, 1961 it was necessary to hold two services each Sabbath. So, the 242 members moved to the Gilbert Auditorium on the campus of Pine Hills Junior Academy on Dairy Rd. in Auburn and began planning for a new church facility.

Eventually, the church on Center Street was sold and six long years later on August 9, 1969 the congregation moved into Phase 1 of its new church home at the current location worshipping in what is now the Youth Chapel. On November 10, 1973 the 45th anniversary of the Auburn SDA Church, services were held for the first time in the barely completed Phase 2 of the current sanctuary. The guest speaker for this special event was Elder H.M.S. Richards, Sr.  (Source Auburn Seventh-Day Adventist Church)

We are now on our second week in our Fund Raising, and we thank you so much for those who have given both "online" and "offline". And thank you also for those who have been praying. We truly appreciate your help and it is our prayer that God abundantly bless you and your family.

Please help us in sharing this link to your family and friends to help us raise funds for the Philippine Meistersingers Holiday Tour in Northern California.

Thankful for you all!

Praising the God that moves mountains,
Valerie

At the 2011 Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod, again as the AUP Ambassadors, the Meistersingers swept the Chamber Choir and Mixed Choir competitions, winning both 1st prizes, and was declared the 2011 “Choir of the World,” and winner of the Luciano Pavarotti trophy.
