My name is Taylor, and I am reaching out during one of the most difficult times my family has ever faced.

A few years ago, my grandfather-in-law asked my fiancée and me to move in with him and my fiancée’s grandmother so we could help care for them. Without hesitation, we said yes. Shortly after moving in, our world changed when we learned that he had been diagnosed with Stage 4 pancreatic cancer and was only expected to live a few more months.

For the next two months, we cared for him and did everything we could to make his remaining time comfortable and filled with love. Sadly, he passed away.

Before his passing, he left his home to my fiancée, our five children, and me. We were incredibly grateful because this house is much more than just another house sitting on a piece of land-it is our family’s home. However, after his death, we discovered that the mortgage had fallen behind while he was battling cancer. Because of his declining health, we had no idea the payments were not being made. Since then, my fiancée has worked tirelessly to catch up on the mortgage while also keeping up with our family’s everyday expenses, but despite our best efforts, we have not been able to get ahead in time.

We are now facing foreclosure, and if we cannot come up with $20,000 by July 5th, we will lose our home.

With only my fiancée working, it has become nearly impossible to provide for a family of seven, pay our monthly bills, and save our home at the same time. Every day, I worry about what will happen to our children if we lose the place they have always known.

This house holds a lifetime of memories. All five of our children have grown up here. It is the home where I brought each of them after they were born. These walls have witnessed their first smiles, first laughs, first steps, first days of school, and countless other milestones. It is where we gathered for holidays, celebrated birthdays, shared family dinners, and created memories that we will cherish forever.

This is also where our family pets spent their lives and now rest in the backyard. It is where our grandfather spent his final days, surrounded by the family he loved. Every room carries a piece of our story.

To many people, this may look like just another house. To us, it is our home, our history, and the place where our children feel safe and secure.
