2017 Mossberg Missionary Movements with OIC

Campaign Created by: Autumn Mossberg

Goal : USD $3,000
Raised : USD $ 490

Greetings Friends! For those of you visiting for the first time here is a brief explanation of what we do:

Praise be to God, we are now officially ACBC (Association of Certified Biblical Counselors) Certified! And Lord willing, we will have completed our Master of Arts Degrees in Biblical Counseling at The Master’s College in Santa Clarita, California by May 2017. The Lord has challenged, sustained, and strengthened us these past 6 years and it is only by His grace, truly, that we will graduate. Which means, the time we spent in studies can now be directed towards more ministry prospects.

For the past 4 years we have become increasingly involved with the ministry, OIC (Overseas Instruction in Counseling, www.discoverOIC.org). OIC trains trainers in biblical counseling outside of the States through academic and modular training programs. Over the span of 1.5 yrs we traveled to the Philippines three times to do some observation and teaching. In 2015 we worked more in an administrative capacity doing some recruiting and coordinating events domestically. And in 2016 we traveled to Holland and Paris as Adjunct Instructors to teach at two of the Modular Training Programs. Should you be interested in learning more about the work we do with OIC (Overseas Instruction in Counseling), go to https://discoveroic.org/who-we-are/tarkus-autumn-mossberg/.

We will be returning to Paris in May 2017 as an Adjunct Instructor, but currently, we are without a designated field of service. However, God has now provided the opportunity and privilege for us to take on a new role as a Country Director. This means we would be the primary instructor for a country or region, recruiting our own adjunct instructors to teach with us, and we would be more involved with developing the partner church relationships overseas. This position also requires more administrative responsibilities and a full commitment to travel a minimum of 2x/yr to that location. The Lord has made it known to us at this time, to serve in Central America, specifically El Salvador. We covet your prayers in this decision, and that God be glorified in it all. Additionally, with this new responsibility comes the honor of raising funds for travel. We are seeking 20 individuals to donate at least $20/mo. Will you be in prayer with us for God to raise up faithful financial supporters for us? And if, after prayerful consideration, you believe God is appointing you to be one of those supporting team members, we are honored and blessed to be partnering with you to build up His people through biblical counseling training. Thank you!

In order to steward the finances God puts into our care through you, back in 2015 we chose to switch fundraising venues from gofundme.com to here in order to save dramatically on fees - by 5%! That's 5% more of your donations that goes into strengthening the kingdom of God worldwide. If you currently have donations going through GoFundMe.com to us, please discontinue those and setup the support on this site. Update #1

2017 marks the ending and beginning of some major milestones for these two Missionaries-at-Large.

Currently, there are two trips on the horizon. First, we will be traveling through France and Germany in April/May 2017. We look forward to joining Don and Elizabeth Roy (Western European Directors) once again in Paris to help with the Module three training program. And we will be representing OIC with a booth at the T4G Reformation conference in Hamburg, Germany (http://www.evangelium21.net/en/500-jahre-reformation). While in the country, Autumn and I will also be visiting a potential OIC Adjunct Instructor, who happens to be a long-time friend, in Wiesbaden, Germany. Moreover, we will be attending TMAI’s Reformation conference in Wittenberg, Germany (http://reformationskonferenz.de/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/ReformationConference_Wittenberg_EN.pdf) to continue to make new relationships for OIC and celebrate the 500 anniversary of Martin Luther nailing the 95 thesis to the Wittenberg church door.

Lord willing, the second trip on the horizon is to San Salvador. Currently Rod and Mary Huber (Future Belize Country Directors) are in Central America visiting potential new partners in four countries for OIC. We are expecting to travel to San Salvador in October to begin Church Leadership Training (CLT) there. In the past we have been an Adjunct Instructor coming alongside Country Directors in these training programs. But these new CLT training opportunities have opened up the door for us to step into a new opportunity as well. As the Country Director of El Salvador we look forward and are committed to handling these new responsibilities including all administration with local partner churches, meeting and developing new potential partners in the local countries, and finding and preparing adjunct instructors to help in the training, with much care.

Praises:
  • Completion of the ACBC certification
  • The Germany/France trip is fully funded
  • Rod & Mary Huber who were able to lay some key foundations and relationships in San Salvador
  • Desire and enthusiasm to start a CLT in San Salvador
Prayer:
  • That God would use the T4G and Wittenberg conferences to connect us with people who resonate with OIC’s mission and strategic objective.
  • The Lord would bless our teaching time in the Spring in such as way that the church in Europe is strengthened.
  • For donations to provide for the total cost of San Salvador
  • Preparations and logistics for the partners in San Salvador
  • That God would open up advantageous doors for CLT training in Costa Rica
We need and appreciate your ongoing prayers for OIC in Europe and Central America.

I am getting used to this new website so please forgive me if it comes across weird. We switched over to Give Send Go because it doesn't charge all the fees that Go Fund Me does, so it is missionary friendly. But we are finding it is not as robust at Go Fund Me is. For one people are making contributions to us monthly but it is not reporting accurately on the right side of the home page. We thank our current faithful supporters who contribute to us monthly!

Praise be to God, that 100% of our airfare to the European nation for our Apirl 2016 trip has been raise. We currently have a surplus of $400 that will go towards 2 roundtrip train tickets, parking fees, and a bit of food. Please pray that this amount and future donations will be enough funds to cover those variable costs when they arise. To God be the glory!
