Greetings friends and family of the Morrises,
My name is Eric Duncan, Larry’s cousin, and I am reaching out to you with a special request.
As most of you know, Larry was diagnosed with prostate cancer last year and underwent treatment in December, when they were in the US. The flu epidemic sent Molly and Logan to the ER for treatment. Then, the very day they returned to Costa Rica in January, Meg required emergency gallbladder surgery. Larry has since also had one additional emergency procedure for a urinary blockage due to complication related to his prostate cancer treatment. And most recently, Molly just spent two nights in a San Jose hospital with what was initially suspected as appendicitis, but eventually diagnosed as swollen lymph nodes.
To say the least, the last several months have been very difficult for this family. In addition to the emotional and physical toll this has taken, they are now facing almost $50,000 of medical expenses. Although their healthcare policy will cover part of those expenses, they are still responsible for a significant remaining portion. Understandably, this has added a very stressful burden on this missionary family.
As missionaries, the Morrises do not receive a salary, but rather depend on the financial support from those who believe in them and the work they are confident God has called them to do in Costa Rica within the mostly Nicaraguan community of Bajo Tejares. Many of you are among the number of family, friends, and churches who regularly contribute towards that need.
So, this is an appeal from me on the Morris' behalf for all of us to join together and help share the burden of this missionary family's medical debt. I have chosen this Christian crowd funding platform called GiveSendGo that will show the total amount needed along with the donation progress to date. It will also help us keep some separation between this special medical expense campaign and their aforementioned regular ongoing mission support need.
Your donation here on this site with GSG will be tax-deductible as it will go directly from GSG to Faithful Servant Mission for the administrative management of the funds for the Morrises.** So, please give prayerful consideration to clicking the above GIVE NOW button and donating towards the Morris' medical expense need today.
On the Morris’ behalf, THANK YOU in advance, and of course as always, your continued prayers for their family and mission are continually needed and greatly appreciated.
** Please note that GSG does not charge any fees for their service, unlike similar sites. However, as with relatively all online transactions, the payment processor, WePay, charges a fee of 2.9% plus $.30 on every transaction, which is withdrawn as the payment is processed. So, your tax-deductible donation to FSM will be discounted by that amount accordingly. If you wish to avoid that entirely, you are very welcome to mail in a check to Faithful Servant Missions; POB 50316; Jacksonville Beach, FL 32240 and write Morris Medical on the memo line.
