Supporting the Evans Family

UPDATE: 8/17/2025

Another message from Miles's father Russell:

"I’ll preface this by saying nothing is promised or guaranteed, but, we talked to the Chief Neurosurgeon for the first time today and based on his reading of the MRI and Miles progress so far he is confident in a strong recovery - walking, talking, school etc all on the table. It’s going to take a lot of work and he will have deficits that take years to overcome with therapy and education but we have every reason to hope for a normal and fulfilling life for our son. Thank you all for your prayers and support thus far, we are eternally grateful!"

Praise be to God!  Please continue to keep Miles in your prayer intentions. Nothing is promised or guaranteed, but the long, challenging road to recovery is in motion!

UPDATE: 8/10/2025

Message from Miles's father Russell:

"The boy lives! He just got his breathing tube out and he’s breathing on his own now. He’s still out of it but he’ll be moving to the rehab center soon. The next step will be to get him moving again and get him talking. Our biggest concern is his speech cognition, so if you guys are praying for him that’s a specific intention."

Praise be to God! Miles has quite the road ahead of him, but we are so thankful for the prayers and support everyone has offered — they have truly carried this family through this journey so far, and we ask that you continue to keep Miles in your prayer intentions, especially for the healing of his speech cognition.

UPDATE: 8/6/2025

The family continues to see signs of hope in Miles’s recovery. Last night, even while heavily medicated, he began breathing over the ventilator—something that shocked the doctors, given the high level of sedation he's under. This is an incredibly encouraging sign for future brain function once he's stable enough to begin waking up.

Because Miles’s intracranial pressure (ICP) still isn’t quite ready to tolerate movement, the medical team has adjusted his medications to help his body stay calm and healing. The next few days remain a careful waiting game, but this unexpected step forward is a gift the family is deeply grateful for.

Please continue to pray for stability and long-term healing.

UPDATE: 8/3/2025

Miles made it through the night with encouraging numbers. His intracranial pressure (ICP) has remained stable with consistently low readings—an important sign that the most critical phase is now behind him.

The next few days are a holding pattern, the doctors will continue to watch his numbers and discuss drawing back on medications--which include drawing him out of the coma. There are still many unknowns; continue to pray for long-term recovery!

The Evans family continues to express how deeply grateful they are for everyone’s prayers and support; they truly believe it’s the love and prayer surrounding Miles that will see him through.

UPDATE 8/2/2025:

Miles is now in a medically induced coma.  The next 12 hours are critical.  Please pray that Miles pulls through.

UPDATE 8/1/2025:

Miles stayed stable and his brain swelling remained low throughout the night. The doctors continue to keep him sedated, trying to keep the swelling low. This is hopeful news, please continue to pray for low levels of swelling as it indicates a better prognosis for recovery.  We're not out of the woods yet; we are halfway through the critical path. Continue to pray for healing!

The Evans family is facing a serious crisis. Their three-year-old son, Miles Evans, sustained a severe head injury after falling two stories from his bedroom window. The accident occurred when he climbed out unnoticed.

Miles' status is critical. The next 72 hours are especially important for his survival and recovery.

In this extremely trying time for the family, the financial strain—let alone the emotional-- is both real and immediate.

This is why we are organizing a fund raising effort to support the Evans family during this difficult time. Contributions will help offset medical costs and provide stability while they navigate this crisis.

If you’re in a position to help, your donation—no matter the size—can make a direct impact.

Let’s help remove at least one burden from this family’s shoulders while they focus on what matters most: helping Miles heal.

Furthermore, if you are unable to support the Evans Family financially, prayers are deeply appreciated. We encourage you to join in praying a Novena to St. Charbel, seeking his intercession for Miles’ healing: https://saintcharbel.net.au/novena/

Thank you for your prayers, consideration, and attention to this matter.
