She recently moved in with her daughter, son-in-law, and 3 grandchildren because she can no longer be left alone. Although her doctors have been preparing for a transplant in the future, no one was prepared for the need to come so quickly. The emotional and financial weight has been overwhelming.

With Melissa being disabled she cannot work. We’re raising funds to help cover any extra medical needs, travel costs to and from Duke University (4 hours away), and living expenses as her situation has quickly changed.
