It is with profound sadness that we share that our beloved wife, mother, daughter, and sister, Mary Catherine Bishop, passed away on December 24, 2025 after a long courageous battle with cancer. She left this world peacefully at home, surrounded by love, and without pain.

Mary Catherine was married for 25 years to Dr. Mike Bishop and was the devoted mother of three incredible sons — Nathan, Matthew, and Ryan. She was the youngest daughter of Martha Lamb, Kenneth Davis and James Lamb and loving sister to Elizabeth, Deanna, Brad, Steve, Melinda, Tim, Andrew and Jeff. She built a life overflowing with love, laughter, and memories that will forever live in the hearts of everyone who knew her.

She brought purpose, joy, and a beautiful sense of silliness to her family’s life. Her warmth, kindness, and unwavering love touched countless people, and her spirit will continue to shine through the stories we share and the lives she shaped.

Service Details

• Friday, January 2 — Private funeral for family and invited friends
• Saturday, January 3, 11:00AM — Celebration of Life at Park Valley Church in Haymarket — Service in the church, with a reception to follow. Guests are invited to share their favorite Mary Catherine stories.
• Monday, January 5 — Private burial

In lieu of flowers, Mary Catherine wished for contributions to be made to her sons’ college fund. Donations to this GiveSendGo fund will be divided equally among Nathan, Matthew, and Ryan to support their college tuition and room-and-board expenses. MC would be honored by your investment in her boys' future.
