Rebuilding After Stroke, Loss & Hardship

Help Me Through This Difficult Season

Many of you know me through my writing, music, fiber arts, or our fellowship in Christ. Asking for help is not something that comes easily to me, but after much prayer, I've decided to share where things currently stand.

In 2024, I suffered a stroke that significantly changed my ability to work. Although I've made progress in my recovery, the loss of income has been difficult, especially after the fiber festivals and business opportunities I depended on never fully recovered following COVID.

Since then, I've continued doing everything I can to move forward. I've been writing, creating Scripture-based music, working on devotional projects, and downsizing a lifetime fiber arts business. I'm also preparing a large garage sale to sell equipment, handmade items, and supplies that I've accumulated over many years.

Recently, another unexpected hardship arose when my vehicle suffered a catastrophic mechanical failure. I'm now facing legal expenses to determine my options while also trying to stay current with rent and other essential bills. At the same time, my longtime landlord is retiring, creating uncertainty about my future housing.

I'm seeking to raise $3,000 to help bridge this difficult season. These funds would help with overdue rent, an attorney consultation regarding my vehicle, and other essential expenses while I continue selling my belongings and working toward greater stability.

I remain hopeful because the Lord has been faithful through every season of my life. This request isn't about giving up, it's about asking for a little help while I continue doing everything I can to move forward.

Because of the lasting effects of my stroke, I can no longer run my fiber business the way I once did. I've made the difficult decision to sell much of the equipment and inventory I've collected over decades while keeping only enough to continue creating on a smaller scale.

If you're able to give, pray, or simply share this fundraiser with others, I would be deeply grateful.

Thank you for your kindness, your prayers, and your encouragement.

With gratitude,

Laura Halfpenny
