I’m beyond excited to share with you all that I have been selected along with six other dancers from my university to participate in a dance ministry internship in Northern Ireland this summer. I am looking forward to experiencing dance ministry in a new cultural context and I cannot wait to share with you all what I will learn through this opportunity.

This trip is a month-long internship located in Belfast, Ireland. We are partnering with a local non-profit dance company called Green Light Dance Company. Suzannah McCreight is the founder and director of this company and her heart for this organization is to be a light connecting with the Belfast City Mission. Through this partnership we will be going into the inner city and teaching dance classes as well as performing in a multitude of settings.

While on this trip we will be using dance ministry where dance is used as a form of outreach to go to places and encounter people through dance as a form of worship and to share the gospel in a way that people understand on a deeper level. One of our professors at Palm Beach Atlantic always talks to us about how everyone’s first language is movement, and for me, I have seen this so apparently in my past mission’s experiences. I have witnessed people being healed from both spiritual and physical ailments through the ministry of dance. Seeing people find freedom through this expression of worship, dance ministry and dance as a form of worship, is something that I believe needs to be shared.
