If you want to know why it's so important to us to do missions with our kids... years ago I sat in a little church in a small town and listened as a missionary home from someplace in Africa shared about his experiences ministering to people whose lives were so desperately different than mine. It ignited compassion and a burden for hurting people that never faded. For many years, I wanted to do missions work overseas. Many things have changed and now I find myself ministering to broken women at a crisis pregnancy center. Who knew? I certainly would never have envisioned such a thing. But that little ember lit sitting in that pew so many years ago would never be doused. Who knows what God will do in the lives of my kids, what paths He will lead them down, in what capacity they will ultimately serve Him, and what people they will sacrificially serve in their lifetimes? God knows. And I believe experiencing the things they do, so far outside their American comfort zones, will ignite a flame in them that will never be smothered. We are so close to our goal! We have just a few more days to raise the remaining $525 needed for our Kenya trip. Would you consider giving to help us get there? And if you can't give, would you pray for my kids, that God would light a flame? If you'd rather give for a tax donation, please let me know.
