She’s taken off work for 2 weeks to be here with Kenneth during the most critical days at home, days when every bit of normalcy they can muster matters deeply. And yet, there's a financial strain too; she had used up all her PTO during his hospital stay and couldn't access her catastrophic leave due to family status, a cruel twist that left them scrambling for other solutions.
