Hi everyone! My name is Kaden Carlson. I'm currently 20 years old and, Lord willing, I have a wonderful opportunity to go on a missions trip to Uganda! I will hopefully get to go to serve kids and support local ministry there. Our team from Church on the Hill in Montrose, Colorado will be partnering with Hines Ugandan Ministries to love kids, support staff, and strengthen discipleship on the ground. Lately, I've felt very compelled to go on a trip like this, and hearing that Uganda is one of the poorest countries on earth gives me compassion for the people there. In Romans 12, Paul talks about how as followers of Christ, we're supposed to put love into action. In verse 13 of that passage, Paul writes to "Share with the Lord's people who are in need". When Jesus walked on earth, he spent time with the poor, the needy, and the lost. Jesus had compassion for those in need, and he put love in action better than anyone, even to the point of death on the Cross. I also think about how I want to make the most of my time that I have on earth, knowing that eternity in Heaven is so much greater than life on earth. I believe that as Christ followers, we're under the great commission to reach people for him, doing this through love and serving others. Ultimately, this trip is a great way to put love into action by serving those in need, as well as giving glory to Christ my King. Your gift helps put hands and feet to the Gospel. Airfare and ground transport will cost roughly $1,200, lodging and meals about $1,000, ministry supplies and outreach about $1,000, trip insurance/fees about $35-$100, and other expenses around $700.
