Matters fell through with MP Stephanie McLean's office near the end of January 2026.
John Albion wrote permission early November 2025 to the MP to look into & resolve two troubles, reprieve on deductions Service Canada has made, and to look into the intent behind removing his drivers licence. Last tried MP Stephanie McLean's office late February 2026. John Albion had some minor medical issues in this time, one such matter ended up in a trip to the hospital early February 2026. I reached out to multiple Senior advocacy groups during & after interacting with the MP's office (Also aware of issues pertaining to Bill 36 – 2022 Health Professions and Occupations Act in BC) Believe patient doctor confidentiality can be better respected by all provinces of Canada.

How Your Donation Will Be Used:
Whatever your donation, would go toward my father, John Albion's legal fees outside a 4% tip rate set for Give Send Go, given this matter is set in Canada, to properly address his right to liberty, like the recent removal of his drivers licence by the state, and to seeing the government issue an apology for any matters that can be looked upon as retaliatory to John Albion or his family. Some departments & policy by government have been bothersome, many poor interactions have resulted, even outside what was covered in the open letter presented in the local newspaper, such as John's business account being frozen for a time, due to a slow response to his bank that came in around Christmas (Yet another matter being worked on) such also relates government policy. John was scheduled to meet the MP in person during the time frame covered in the open letter (Late Jan), it was reneged by the MP's office the day of. The MP's office claimed earlier on to be looking into at least the Service Canada matter, neither have set a reprieve on the deductions Service Canada made due to what is further highlighted in the open letter found in the newspaper article in the banner. We did receive more paperwork from Service Canada mid March 2026.
Various legal actions or specialists outside of the lawyers fees, can be rather costly, this initial campaign is a quick estimate of a potential outcome, the government could decide to be reasonable, we don't feel they have been as of yet. Any unused funds by the law firm through this phase will be returned, this will focus on my fathers legal fees. Updates to this campaign will outline use of funds from my fathers lawyer, along with notifications of events.
What is highlighted in the newspaper article with regard to the SCC is a legal matter handled Pro Se, I did submit a memorandum before the SCC on time, with issues of public importance. Though I could relate more, seen a lot of human rights violations here in BC, seeing such for so long hurts one's tact. Not just say John's liberty, which watching a provincial department take my fathers drivers licence after the SCC filing, is upsetting along with what other troubles came up around that, though John's been driving for a long time, use to drive all over Victoria on TV & Radio service repair calls, he mostly worries about all the bike lane changes these days, and we have spoken with our Mayor on a better way forward there too. Though I know more human rights issues in Canada have come up in the news too, I'd like to see the provincial & federal government change course as it relates respecting human rights, I believe the public deserves better, there is great potential for a better legal system & democratic process, been looking into such matters of public importance between court dates since late 2023 & 2021 respectively.
Lastly, in keeping with a thoughtful purpose behind Give Send Go, regardless ability to donate or not to this British Columbia matter involving a senior citizen's human rights, I'd like to ask for prayer, there are many issues in the world along with causes, events, missions etc, I do pray myself, read Psalms most as it relates the Bible, and read prayer books from various denominations when I can & enjoy reading olde hymns along with tidings, there is a lot going on in this world that can distract from ones focus on simpler, kinder words, even in just the troubles set out before my father, anything shared to such an end would be appreciated.
Thank you for looking into this legal campaign. - David Gauthier

Update - May 4th, 2026
Outside the Senior advocacy groups I tried earlier & the law firm listed above, I have now reached out to other organizations, some of which have committed to seeking resolution on these troubles on my fathers behalf, so as promoting this campaign has slowed some, I also made suggestions to give send go as for potential improvements here, along with diligently studying, promoting & praying for other campaigns, I also wanted to add this campaign's url slug to this write up to help in it's search results; JohnsLibertyFund
Update - May 31, 2026
A letter was sent out to the MP's office May 19th 2026 via email, seeking help yet again from the MP to resolve the matter by one of the larger organizations which offered to help John, another government department has touched base too, no direct word by the MP to either John or the larger organization to the best of my understanding. Another MP reached out a few days after the letter, inquiring to concerns I brought to them earlier, much of them relating the treatment of my father & overlapping with what is touched on here, partly specific to another field outside our MP's secretarial duties too.
