I had a discussion with my lawyer after the online meeting with the Court and he has waived a lot of fees for me and given me one final bill, to conclude my trial and soon to be able to have my life back, without a criminal history or restrictions. From the beginning I have said I won’t quit and I won’t back down..... 

I was arrested on February 14th, 2022 down in Coutts/Milk River, when leaving the Freedom Convoy Protest, after I had carefully brought in firewood to keep Canadians warm. Jason Kenney had placed a fireban in February, so no one could bring firewood down to keep the protest going. When I was leaving, I drove past the final check point, where an RCMP officer was sitting in his marked car. In the final seconds, the officer, exited his cruiser and stood by his drivers door and waved. I took it as a sign of goodbye…(I was leaving the protest). When I drove past the check point my front steer tire had clipped the base of a pylon causing damage to the pylon and knocking it over. Apparently, this made the officer fear for his life. From there, I was arrested and charged with “assault with a weapon” (on a police officer, the weapon being my HydroVac Truck) and “dangerous driving”. 

My first trial, I went with a judge and jury and didn’t have the right counsel to represent me. I was found guilty on both charges and sentenced to 10 months in prison. I served 45 days, then was released on “bail pending appeal”. Since then, I have battled and won the right to appeal the charges based on constitutional breaches and other bases. To this day I am still the only one in the movement that has won an appeal and had the matter sent back for a new trial. 

From that point, I have retained a really good lawyer, that has won many different applications for me and continues to fight for me. I have been granted a retrial where we have concluded a whole week in the Lethbridge Court of Kings Bench. We require about another 3 days to conclude my trial and vindicate myself. My lawyer is trying to cut costs where he can but we have one final hearing, before the judge rules on her decision and that is, closing arguments, where everyone will have to be present in Lethbridge Court. 

I have one final bill to pay the lawyer which is 20k, then it’s all over. I know people are struggling, so am I but I’m trying my best to work as much as I can with these conditions, as well as still stand up for what is right for our children.
