Into The Light - A Teaching Documentary on Freedom From Pornography

Do you know someone broken by pornography? Nothing destroys families, shatters ministries, and distorts intimacy like pornography does. Into The Light is a teaching documentary that offers the fundamentals of change from bondage in sin to freedom in Christ.

Much of the conversation about porn focuses on why it is wrong but does not offer Biblical hope for change. After years of fighting it is so easy to become jaded and doubt that God really cares. He does care. Our prayer for this film is that it will equip men and women to know and love Jesus more than pornography.

Into The Light is a resource for individuals and churches. The film takes the structure of six chapters. Each chapter is an interview with a pastor or biblical counselor who speak on sin, Christ’s love, confession, radical measures, endurance, and the holistic Christian life. We are thrilled to have Heath Lambert, Jeremy Pierre, Garrett Kell, Deepak Reju, and Ellen Dykas speak in the film (see bios in updates).

Why do we need another Christian resource on pornography when there are so many good books already written? Unfortunately, many people are not readers. A film can get everyone in a church on the same page and begin the conversation.

By funding this project, you are helping us create a full-length teaching documentary, a six episodes series, and an accompanying podcast. We are committed to offering everything as a 100% free resource, but to do this, we need your support. Please consider investing in this project and offering hope for those caught in porn.

Practical Questions:

Why crowdfunding? We want to crowd-fund the whole film so that the resource can be free for churches and individuals. To be totally transparent, anyone is welcome to see exactly how the budget allocates each dollar, just send us an email. Please consider investing in this project and offering hope for those caught in porn.

When will Into the Light be finished? Lord willing, we are on schedule to finish the film and begin promotion in late August 2022.

Is this just a resource for men? Resoundingly no! We are committed to head-on addressing the fact that women struggle with pornography just as much as men. We are thrilled to bring Ellen Dykas into the film and hope to begin removing the barrier of shame for women sharing their sexual struggles.

How can you support us? The obvious way is to donate to the campaign, but there are other ways. First, please pray that the Lord would work heart change through this film. To do this you can join our email list at Secondly, begin the conversation with your friends and family and share the project. Finally, seek out opportunities and make yourself available to walk alongside men or women caught in pornography.

Hello friends,

We wanted to let you know that Into The Light just dropped its third podcast. These are really special conversations where we ask the real, honest questions that you and I have about pornography, sexuality, and the Christian life.

This recent podcast is with Ellen Dykas. Ellen takes the fifth teaching section of the documentary and specifically addresses endurance for the many months and years of fighting temptation. In her podcast, we discuss how shame and guilt work, how women struggle with pornography and hope for wives hurt through porn. You can listen to the podcast here.

If you enjoy the conversation, share it with a friend!

Jake and I are incredibly thankful for the support, prayer, and engagement you have all shown to Into The Light. Thank you for making this possible.

Hello all,

We reached our fundraising goal!!!

Words like thankful, honoured, humbled, and in awe all come to mind. Because of the incredible generosity of everyone who donated to Into The Light, the gospel's message of hope and healing WILL go out to many many men and women caught in pornography. God is good. May his name be praised through all that this project has done and will do.

Friday night 10,500 dollars were raised for the documentary at the Exalted Christ music evening. Fundraising began June 1, 2022, and on July 15, the rest of the funds were raised. Again, God is good.

Any funds that are now raised above the base goal of 65,000 will be going towards further resources and work on Into The Light as a documentary, podcast, and video series. There is always more room to give!

Keep an eye out for the podcasts as they get released, and you can keep watching early highlights from the documentary on Instagram.

Thank you for your generous donations and prayers. "For from him and through him and for him are all things. To him be the glory forever! Amen."
