I am at the public’s mercy right now.. I have until tomorrow to come up with my rent. Phone bill of 25$ due on July second. Mid American, Alliant, and my water are all due on the 4th. Im a proud single mom raising my daughter completely on my own. For the past eight & a half years, her father has not been in the picture at all, he has never even met her. I work full-time as a cook at Ray’s Pub and have always done everything I can to provide for us.

close to 2 weeks sgo, what feels like everything in my life, changed when I was involved in a serious car accident. I fractured four vertebrae in my back and suffered a hematoma on my forehead, leaving me with significant pain and ugly bruising. I’m now doing physical therapy (still at the hospital) and unable to work my job for the next couple of weeks while I heal. I have a back brace I have to wear until cleared by my doctor.

i will post below a couple of photos from right after the accident day 1 and the second one is me yesterday. I will also post a photo of what my truck looks like now. So now I need to find transportation as well. My daughters school has been incredibly helpful with our recent move and with helping watch my daughter as it is summer time right now. She has been staying over night with her aunt sam, my sister. I would really love to keep her in this school area I just need a little help financially to get me thru as this accident has stopped me from receiving income. and I just pray the big guy upstairs lets the internet do its thing 💔

Even before the accident I was already stretching every dollar as a single mom. Now, with no income coming in for probably a month, I’m trying to get ahead and will struggle to cover:

• Rent: $800

• Utilities (Alliant, MidAmerican, water)

• Groceries

• Gas (including trips to physical therapy after I get out too)

I do not receive any government assistance and have always tried to handle things on my own. Right now I’m asking for help from kind people who can spare anything at all for groceries or a gas gift card, sharing this, prayers, or words of encouragement. If you’re local, even a meal or help with transportation to appointments would mean the world.

I’m determined and will get back on my feet and return to work at Ray’s Pub as soon as my doctor clears me. Your generosity right now will help me focus on healing instead of worrying about keeping a roof over our heads.
