Help Tabanane Grow

Tabanane is a small village with big strength, resilience, and hope. During my time here, serving in midwifery and nursing care, I’ve seen how deeply health is connected to something very simple: nutrition.

The women in this village work incredibly hard to grow food for their families. Year after year, they try to maintain their gardens—but during the hot season, with temperatures rising up to 50°C, their efforts often fade away due to a lack of water.

Every day, some women walk long distances carrying heavy buckets of water on their heads, doing everything they can to keep their plants alive. But despite their perseverance, it’s simply not enough.

That’s why I would like to raise €2000 to purchase a solar electric water pump.

This pump would make a lasting difference—making it possible to water the gardens more easily and consistently. It means healthier crops, better nutrition, stronger families, and a step toward sustainability and economic growth for the whole community.

Part of the funds will also go toward planting equipment and tools, piping for the water to arrive at the plants and a fence to provide for protection from animals like cows and goats that roam the area. Also, a small part of the funds will go toward celebrating the students I’ve had the privilege of training over these past months. As they complete their exams, I would love to honour their hard work with a small graduation celebration and meaningful gifts.
