HELP QUIET BEAR BEAT CANCER!

Campaign Created by: Marissa Brown

The funds from this campaign will be received by Marcela Cruz.

Goal: USD $10,000
Raised: USD $ 1,075

We are asking for help for Michael Gibbons, whose spiritual shamanic name is QuietBear. QuietBear has been in service to humanity and Mother Earth all of his life. By the time he was eighteen, he had saved four lives, served as a volunteer Fireman, worked in Law Enforcement, and served his country in the United States Air Force. Spiritually, he continued such work until 1989, when he became a shaman after seven intense years of formal study, and is proud to live under the teachings of the Twisted Hair Elders (https://newagora.ca/the-bear-truth/). In the course of all this work, he has experienced four near-death experiences, and each time was sent back by God, to complete work he has been asked to do.

On 12/16/23 he experienced his fourth near-death experience in his life. He was rushed to the hospital with 650 ml. of blood around his heart and in his lungs, his kidneys and liver failing. Against all odds, QuietBear has made a miraculous recovery, including the successful healing of all the organs that had failed, leaving his team of doctors and nurses stunned. He is now known around the hospital as "The Bear" and The Miracle Man, due to his amazingly fast healing and the sheer strength he has shown in the face of death, as well as a reference to his shamanic name. During this fourth time, Jesus Christ communicated with him, and asked him to return, to continue his important work. While in the hospital for his 20-day stay, he also underwent a thirteen-hour surgery to save his leg and then three days later underwent the amputation of his great and second toes.

During his time in the hospital, he and his wife, Marcela, were evicted from their present rental due to inconveniences claimed by the landlady, that she claimed to be caused by all of these extenuating circumstances. QuietBear is now in great need of financial assistance to help cover his medical bills, as well as the unexpected moving costs. Any assistance you can find it in your heart to give, will be both deeply appreciated as well as blessed, as it will support the important work he has been sent back to do for us all, and has already begun doing.

Please know that your prayers are also powerful and deeply appreciated.

A word from the author,

I started this campaign to help my dad. I've watched him come back from so many things in my life, but this has been the scariest of them all. It's no surprise to me that he had made the miraculous recovery he has because he is easily one of the strongest people I know, but there was a time during his time in the hospital, when I thought my worst fear would come true. With the help of his amazing medical team, his wife, Marcela, and his strong and unwavering spirit, he is still with us. We now have an opportunity for him to move closer to my family, and for him to finally get to know his grandchildren. A Gibbons' trait is to always find the silver lining in any situation, even the hardest or most traumatic. So while this ordeal has been harrowing, and many tears have been shed, I'm finally about to get my dad back in my day to day life, and my kids will get to know their Papa Bear. Any help is greatly appreciated, whether that be a donation, sharing the campaign, or simply sending love and healing energy to my dad. Thank you!

Update #2 - Quiet Bear has Cancer
March 28, 2024

It has taken me a while to write this update, as the news has been hard for me to accept. A few weeks ago, my dad was not only diagnosed with Lung Cancer, we have now learned that the cancer is in stage 4, and has spread throughout his body, including his brain. It is now believed by his Doctors that this has been the root cause of all the medical issues he's been experiencing, like the continuing accumulation of fluid in his lungs and around his heart.

While this news may be grim, my dad is doing what he does best and is staying positive. He will be meeting with his Oncologist soon and will be creating a treatment plan, which will likely include chemotherapy. If you know my dad at all, you know he is a fighter and has survived several things far worse than some bad cells in his body. We know he will beat this too.

That being said, there is still a fight to be had, and he is once again in need of whatever assistance can be given. So whether you can offer a prayer, share this campaign, or spare a few dollars to help pay his medical bills, all will be gratefully accepted and appreciated.

We are all following my dad's example and keeping our spirits up and staying positive. We know through the help of his amazing team of doctors, the love and support of all our family and friends, and the healing powers of God, he will come out on the other side healthy, happy and thriving. I personally know and believe this will be just another amazing story my dad gets to share about his life and what he has overcome.

Thank you to everyone who has donated so far, and kept Bear in your thoughts and prayers. We love you all and look forward to sharing positive updates as he takes each step closer to beating his cancer!

Update #1

On 1/14/24, Michael/QuietBear was finally discharged from his hospital care after spending 20 days in the hospital. He was discharged to continued recuperation at home, with nurse visits and pain management help. As witnessed by his team of doctors at the hospital and in his follow-up checkups with those doctors, his recovery is both miraculous, and months ahead of typical recuperation from even one of his conditions, let alone the combination of recuperation from multiple organ failure, 13-hour leg surgery, and 3-hour foot surgery. His doctors and home health nurse continue to be amazed. But QuietBear is powerfully inspired to make a full comeback to continue the spiritual work God sent him back to continue.

At this time, the remaining and key challenge he and his wife, Marcela, are facing is that of moving out of the now spiritually and emotionally toxic environment created by their highly unstable landlady. The cost of finding a new and healthy home and moving are presently daunting, all the while an utterly necessary expense for their safety and welfare and that of their two wonderful dogs, and any further donation you would be moved to make would be a Godsend, together with your prayers. Thank you!
