Help Me Fund Therapy After Years of Hate

Hello friends,

I will try to keep this short, but I have a lot to say. Today, I want to share a piece of the last six years of my life with you.

In 2020, a woman walked onto my porch and cut down my pride flag. We were never able to identify her, so nothing could be done besides filing a police report. That was the beginning of a long battle I am still fighting.

By 2023, I had moved my pride flag inside for safety. Even then, three young boys came by, used a massive rock to smash my bedroom window, and stole the pride flag right from my room. I was home at the time, in bed, and I terrifyingly called 911 the moment I realized what was happening.

Thankfully, they were caught about four months later and were billed for the new window we had to replace out of pocket, but the emotional damage was done. I did not sleep for months, worried they would return to do who knows what next. Loud sounds made me jump. I could not sleep in my own bedroom for nearly two months, and my therapy bills kept growing due to an increase in seeing my therapist and my insurance did not cover it.

By 2025, I found myself in the middle of a civil rights case against my place of residence. They tried to force me to remove my pride flag after I finally felt safe enough to place it outside on a pole again. It brought up a lot of trauma, but I was more determined than ever to win—and I did. My flag got to stay, and I felt proud of myself for standing my ground and thought that maybe things were getting better, but I was wrong.

Now, in 2026, things have taken another terrifying turn. A couple of months ago, men drove by my home yelling slurs all because of my pride flag. I was once again in my bedroom, heard the screaming, and just froze. Terrified, it took a moment for my brain to catch up. By the time I went outside to see who it was, they were gone. Thankfully, I caught them on camera and filed another police report, but I could not sleep in my room that night out of sheer fear for what could come next. They have still not been identified.

Days later, the harassment escalated. I received over 20 phone calls from different numbers, all linked back to an app used to spoof numbers. I never answer numbers I do not know, but they left voicemails. Horrible ones. Using slurs. Again. Panicked and worried about how they even got my number, I filed another report and set up an emergency appointment with my therapist because I felt my anxiety spiraling.

This has been absolute hell. I am doing everything I can to survive this, and therapy is the only thing helping me process this ongoing trauma. Unfortunately, I am at a breaking point. I have been forced to use my emergency credit card for the past five years just to afford my sessions, and I can no longer pay the bill after this month. I need this care to handle what is happening to me, but I am entirely out of financial options.

Which brings me here. To you. The public. The community. I know we are all struggling in so many ways, but I have seen the kindness you have given to others in the past, and I can only hope to be on the receiving end of that kindness now.
