Hi, my name is Akasha, and I’m asking for help as I work to leave an abusive relationship and create a safe, stable home for me and my 19-month-old daughter.

This is one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to write, but I know I need help to get out and start over. For a long time, I have been trying to hold things together and do what I can, but I’ve reached a point where I need to choose safety, peace, and stability for my daughter and myself.

Leaving is not as simple as just walking away. I am currently trying to rebuild from the ground up while caring for my little girl full-time. I have been out of work since becoming a mom, and I’m doing my best to figure out housing, transportation, childcare, and the basic costs that come with starting over. Right now, I need help covering the expenses that will allow us to move into a safe place and get back on our feet.

The funds raised will go toward:

1. A deposit and first month’s rent for a safe place to live
2. Utility setup and moving expenses
3. Essentials for my daughter and me
4. Groceries, gas, and daily necessities during the transition
5. Childcare and other costs that will help me return to work and become financially independent

As a mother, my biggest priority is making sure my daughter has a safe, calm, and loving environment to grow up in. I’m trying to break out of a difficult situation and give her the stability she deserves. Asking for help is not easy for me, but I know that support right now could make all the difference in helping us start over.
