I’m writing this on behalf of my dear friend Hilary. She is a dedicated healthcare worker and loving mother to two babies under two years old. Her husband has completely abandoned her and their children, leaving her reeling from shock and grappling with an immediate financial crisis that seemed insurmountable at first glance.

her family home wasn’t just her safe haven anymore; it had become a place they could not afford or feel safe in.

With two babies underfoot and bills piling up, the situation was dire. She had to quit her job at the hospital—a career she loved dearly—to care for her little ones full time as her husband refused to pay for daycare. In doing so, she lost her primary source of income. They are in need of basic necessities, like diapers, shelter and transportation as she is not able to make the payments anymore.

The strain was evident; Hilary had no choice but to move into a relative’s home temporarily, leaving behind cherished memories, stability—and all sense of normalcy for herself and her babies. 

And yet, amidst all this hardship, while trying not to lose hope—Hilary holds fast to her resilience and strength for herself and her children.

That’s where we come into this story—as allies who can help make all of Hilary's dreams for her family possible again by providing desperately needed funds towards rent, car and utilities. Our support ensures that a mother doesn’t have to worry about the basics of life in order to fight for justice.
