🌟💔 It’s moments like these that stop you in your tracks, heart pounding as if to say, "This is real life." Just a few days ago, I was holding my son Caius, his tiny hand clutching mine. Smiling and laughing But amidst this tenderness lies a stark reality: Caius has numerous medical issues—Down syndrome, hypoplastic nasal bone, small pericardial infusion, and more. Many people don’t see the reality of what our family goes through every day. My little boy is only 2 years old, yet he has already faced more medical challenges than most people will experience in a lifetime. Watching your child struggle with health problems is one of the hardest things a parent can go through. There are so many appointments, tests, treatments, phone calls, sleepless nights, and constant worries that never seem to go away. Right now, my little boy is inpatient at the children’s hospital in Grand Rapids, Michigan. While most children his age are busy playing, learning, and enjoying being toddlers, my son spends far too much time surrounded by doctors, nurses, tests, medications, and hospital rooms. It breaks my heart knowing that he has had to endure more than any child should ever have to.

The hospital is over 6 ½ hours away from home, which means every visit, every emergency, every update, and every moment by his side comes with a long and exhausting journey. Those 6 ½ hours feel even longer when your child is sick and hospitalized. The drive is emotionally draining because all you can think about is getting to your baby as quickly as possible. The miles seem endless when your heart is hurting and your child needs you. All I’m asking is for some help anything will help so we can save to get him everything he needs when he comes home and to be able to have the money to be able to drive back and fourth to appointments
