I don't remember much about my elementary school education, Id remember it was very difficult for me. It was suspected that I am dyslexic. I struggled with high school and college. I dropped out of college when the workload became overwhelming, I couldn't focus and I was getting too far behind. I believe I am smart enough to complete college, I have broad interests but I can't focus on reading the books and self learning. I enjoy problem solving, I just need more time to get it done. I find myself in a position where I need a college diploma. I have 37 years of work experience and now in order to carry on with my career, I need to compete with the younger crowd. Most employers in my field are asking for a college diploma. in order for me to get one, I have been advised to get assed for dyslexia. Getting assed may help the college tailor a learning model so I can succeed. The costs associated with having a professional assessment and therapy are extremely high and my current health plan does not cover the costs.
