Update 2: I found a nice apartment and it's very cheap every month! Was able to lower the request amount to match it. We are in and out of living in our car and cheap hotels...but any help is very appreciated. The people of NC have been kind with things like food...we're close to salvation. Thanks!

Update 1: We were indeed evicted but because we surrendered the keys they decided not to put it on our record. Currently we are living in our car, the four of us sleeping in Walmart parking lots trying to make it work. Anything to help us be able to get into another apartment or a hotel would be appreciated.

My family and I were doing okay. We weren’t wealthy, but we were stable, paying our bills and getting by. Then everything changed when my wife gave birth to our son.

She nearly died during labor and had to undergo an emergency C-section. Our baby was born not breathing and almost didn’t make it. My wife suffered severe hemorrhaging and needed extensive recovery afterward. I was working in management at Walmart at the time, and I took paternity leave to care for her and our newborn while she healed.

I took three weeks off. When I returned, I was told I had been replaced and no longer had a job.

Since then, we’ve fallen behind financially trying to survive and care for our children. Today we were served an eviction notice with only 3 days to leave. There was no warning, no additional paperwork, nothing. We have a 7 week old baby and a 1 and a half year old toddler, and right now we genuinely have nowhere to go and no money to relocate.

I’ve reached out to every resource and assistance program I can find. I hate asking strangers for help, but I don’t know what else to do at this point. If anyone is able to help in any way, even sharing this, I would be beyond grateful.
