August 12 update: I want to take a moment to thank and praise the Lord for all that he’s done for me in these recent times. When I started this fundraiser, the goal was set to $72,000 and today I had to adjust it to $42,000. The Lord has been making a way to make this possible through your continual prayers and encouragement, and generosity. I also want to thank every single one of you, may God bless you all 🙏🏼

July 30th update: I would like to take a moment to thank God for blessing this fundraiser and all the fundraising efforts. I had to again lower the goal of this fundraiser, I am at 44% of the final goal!
I am also awaiting a verdict to receive the disability tax credit, which will take another big chunk out of the fundraising, if you could, please pray for that to come through!
Thank you all for your ongoing support and prayers and God bless you all!

July 21 update: I have once again lowered my fundraiser goal due to everyone’s generosity outside of the platform!
Glory to God! I am so moved by the miracle that the Lord is performing in my life!
I cannot thank you all enough. I have no idea how to thank all of you for this outcome! We are now at 40% of the goal!
My story in English is found below.
Mes collègues me manquent.
Hi, my name is Sadia, for those of you who don’t know me, I have been living with multiple sclerosis (MS) for about 15 years.
What is MS?
it is a neurodegenerative auto immune disorder in which the immune system eats away at the myelin sheath on the patient’s nerves. Myelin is the insulation that is around our nerves that allows signals to travel from the brain to different places in the body. When this part of your nerves is affected, there can be a multitude of symptoms which could range from blindness to dizziness to neurological fatigue to muscular spasms to lack of sensation in different areas of the body to a lack of range of motion affecting mobility and more. The symptoms are extremely vast, depending on which part of the brain is being targeted.
I have been recently disabled; about two years ago, due to a significant relapse. Since then, there is still disease activity present on my MRIs.
In the last few decade, there has been new hope for people who are living with MS like me, but the treatment is not very accessible yet in our country. The eligibility criteria is very narrow and most of us who would benefit from this treatment are unable to have access to it, or we are made to wait, which is leading us to travel to have it done because MS does not give you a warning when it attacks, it happens suddenly.
The treatment is called HSCT and it is offered in Mexico and in Russia and it is paid out of pocket.
What is HSCT?
It is a one month long treatment where they harvest stem cells from the patient. They then administer chemotherapy to the patient to obliterate the immune system. Following this, they transplant, the stem cells back into the patient to build a brand new immune system. The treatment is designed to reset the immune system and completely stop disease progression and it has an over 90% success rate in treating the form of MS that I have, RRMS. I am a prime candidate in the range of patients who get very successful outcomes. Some patients even improve from their disability and are able to return to work full-time, even run marathons.
Returning to work full-time seems like such a pipe dream for me right now, but I can say I miss the classroom. I miss my colleagues. I miss being able to nurture and give. I want to be able to serve in my church and be active in charity like I used to before I was disabled. This is my best shot at getting my life back or at least not becoming even more disabled.
The total cost of the treatment, travel and tests and scans to be done before leaving is going to be about 95,000CAD. I have already begun paying for some tests, and I have also began fundraising. Up-to-date I have accumulated about 21% of that goal.
If you feel it on your heart to help me gain access to this life-changing treatment, please donate to my cause.
No amount is too small. Any little bit helps.
Thank you to everyone who is encouraging me on this journey, God bless you all 🙏🏼🧡
