Help Our Growing Family Find Emergency Housing

We never imagined we would be in this position, but we are humbly asking for help during one of the most overwhelming seasons of our lives.

Before we found out we were expecting our newest little blessing, we had been carefully planning to purchase a ‘tiny home’ to place on my parents’ property. It felt like the perfect opportunity to create a stable, affordable home for our family. We found a beautiful floor plan, chose a small builder out of Georgia, paid our deposit, and faithfully made payments while it was being built.

Then we received even more joyful news…we were expecting another baby. The timing seemed perfect. Our home would be ready just in time for our growing family.

When the home was delivered, it passed a general inspection and everything appeared fine. We moved in full of excitement and hope. But within the first week, my husband began noticing signs of termites. We immediately called a pest control company, and our worst fears were confirmed…the infestation was severe. So severe that the home was declared structurally unsafe. The exterminators said they had no idea how it passed inspection. My parents’ home and surrounding neighbors do not have termites, and due to the extent of the damage, professionals believe the infestation was present before the home was ever delivered.

The company we purchased the home from has refused to take responsibility and will not refund our money. Thousands of dollars, our savings, are now gone. On top of that, we must pay to have the home removed from my parents’ property to prevent the termites from spreading to their house. (Or to neighbors’ properties)

My parents have graciously allowed us to move into their home, but we are currently sharing one bedroom for my husband, our two young children, myself, and with a newborn arriving in just a couple of months. Their home was already full, and there are ongoing AC issues, making the situation even more difficult.

We have reached out to a local realtor and mortgage lender to explore buying a home, but since all of our funds went into the tiny home and I have just begun maternity leave, our options are limited. If we cannot secure a mortgage, we will need to find a short-term rental, which requires first month’s rent, last month’s rent, and a security deposit.

We are asking for help to:

• Cover emergency housing costs (rental deposit and initial rent or mortgage down payment)

• Pay to have the infested home removed

• Help offset some of the financial loss we experienced

Every donation, no matter the size, means more to us than we can express. If you’re unable to give, sharing our story would also be an incredible blessing.

We truly believed we were stepping into a season of stability for our family. Instead, we are navigating uncertainty just weeks before welcoming our baby. We are praying for a safe place to call home before our little one arrives.

Thank you for reading our story, for your prayers, and for any support you feel led to give. 💜🙏
