My name is Emalee and honestly, writing this is one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do.

Four weeks ago, I underwent spinal fusion surgery. Since then, our lives have been turned upside down financially. Recovery has been slow and painful and I’m currently unable to work while healing.

My husband has been doing everything he can to carry us on his income alone, but despite how hard he works, we are struggling to keep up with even our basic bills. We’ve reached a point where we are scared every day about what happens next.

Right now, we are behind on our electricity, water, and insurance bills, and we are facing the possibility of losing our car. We’ve cut back everywhere we possibly can, but it still feels like we are drowning trying to stay ahead.

We are trying to raise around $2,500 to help us catch up on these urgent expenses and get through this difficult period while I recover and work toward getting back on my feet.

Asking for help does not come naturally to us. We’ve always tried to handle things ourselves and it’s humbling to admit we can’t do it alone right now.
