I am an ordinary woman whom God gave a vision to seven years ago. Last year, I finally stepped out in faith to bring that vision to life, and God met me in my obedience.

SeeKing Jesus is the fulfilment of that vision: a Christian women’s retreat offering a safe, Spirit-led space where women can step away from the noise and demands of everyday life to rest, worship, pray, connect with each other and reconnect with God.

Nine women, including me, attended the inaugural retreat last year. This year, between 16 and 20 women have committed to attend.

What began as something God placed quietly on my heart is growing into a beautiful, cross-generational community of women from different walks of life, united by our love for God, fulling supporting each other in seeing the greater dimensions of God.

The name SeeKing Jesus expresses the heart of the retreat: as we seek Jesus, we begin to see Him more clearly; and as we see Him more clearly, our desire to seek Him grows.

The retreat is anchored in 2 Kings 6:17:

“Open his eyes, Lord, so that he may see.”

During the weekend, I create opportunities for women to see Jesus through Scripture, prayer, reflection, worship, fellowship, silence and community.

There is time for unguarded conversation, shared meals, creativity, walking, laughter new experiences, and rest. My prayer is that every woman encounters God and leaves feeling renewed, realigned and restored just like they did last year.

Until now, I have personally covered the shortfall between what attendees can afford to contribute and the true cost of running the retreat. I have also been blessed by occasional love gifts from other Christians who believe in the vision God has given me.

As I prepare for the retreat’s second year, I am inviting others to help me carry this vision and share the cost of the shortfall.

£2,000, which I will put towards the practical costs of the weekend will ensure there are no expenses costs that are subsided personally by me this year.

The funds will be used as follows:

• £1,400 to hire a minibus to transport (from London to Herefordshire) attendees safely to and from the retreat

• Approximately £400 to provide meals and refreshments throughout the weekend (Friday morning - Sunday morning)

• £200 to subsidise attendance and provide practical assistance for women experiencing financial difficulty

Transportation is one of the retreat’s largest costs, after venue hire - but it is essential.

Providing complementary shared transport makes the event accessible to more women.

I want finances to be as little of a barrier as possible and have always been willing to give what I have.

Any assistance provided, will help me create a welcoming space where women can come with receive God's love and see Him in new ways.
