Help for Baby Boy With Rare Genetic Condition

I am a young single mother to two beautiful children—my vibrant 3-year-old daughter and my precious 5-month-old son, Laker. Our family is facing an unimaginable journey after Laker was born with an extraordinarily rare genetic disorder. He is currently the only known person in the world diagnosed with this specific condition, leaving doctors to learn through research and trial as they care for him.

Laker was born with multiple complex medical conditions, including bilateral microtia, meaning he was born without ears and is deaf, as well as an unbalanced chromosomal translocation involving chromosomes 9 and 20. He has also suffered brain hemorrhages, struggles with malnutrition and weight gain, and faces several congenital abnormalities that require ongoing monitoring, therapies, and specialized care. Recently, Laker spent two difficult weeks in the hospital undergoing surgery and having a feeding tube (G-tube) placed because feeding by mouth was taking too much energy and preventing him from gaining the weight his fragile body desperately needs. At just 10lbs 11oz. , every ounce matters. He is 10 months old.

Despite everything he has endured, Laker is the sweetest and most resilient little boy. Caring for his extensive medical needs has forced me to stop working so I can care for him full-time while also raising my daughter. We are facing many more surgeries, treatments, and medical expenses ahead. Any support will go directly toward Laker’s medical care, supplies, equipment, and helping provide the best quality of life possible for him. Thank you for your kindness, prayers, and support during this incredibly difficult time.
