In 2013, a ruptured disc — misdiagnosed as sciatica — suddenly paralyzed Dave, a hardworking truck driver. Against the odds, he fought his way back to walking again. I've been his caregiver ever since, as he's a fall risk who needs care around the clock.

Now Dave is facing another spinal surgery: two blown discs and a compressed spinal cord, with nerve damage already causing numbness in his hand and arm.

Spinal decompression surgery

Both knees replaced

Two spinal fusions

What we need help with:

As Dave prepares for this next surgery, we're hoping to move closer to family for support. Funds raised will go directly toward out-of-pocket medical costs, travel expenses, and moving costs.

I've been his sole caregiver since 2013, and I now have my own health issues too. We're not asking anyone to fight this alone with us — any amount helps, and sharing this campaign helps just as much as donating.

Update: We're waiting on an appointment with a surgeon in London to confirm whether it's his neck or back this time. Dave will have the surgery and recover with me caring for him, as always — we'd just love to be closer to family before winter.
