In the early hours of Feb 15, 2026 tragedy struck the Hayes family when a fire destroyed their barn. In a matter of minutes, they lost not only the structure itself, but a cherished sow, her five piglets, and two other show pigs.

For this family, these were more than livestock, they were part of their daily life, their livelihood, and their way of giving back.

The Hayes family has been a long-time, dedicated part of our community, serving in their church and local 4H programs. For years, they have generously leased their show pigs to local youth, often at little to no cost, giving kids the opportunity to participate in agricultural programs, learn responsibility, and experience the pride of showing animals. Their kindness has opened doors for countless families who otherwise might not have had the chance.

Now, they need our help.

The loss of the barn and animals is not only emotionally devastating, but financially overwhelming. Funds raised will go toward:

• Rebuilding the barn structure

• Replacing fencing and equipment

• Purchasing new breeding and show stock

• Covering veterinary and cleanup costs
