June 9, 2026 - Greggo has successfully come through the harsh and unforgiving winter. He has been able to move from the use of a walker to a cane, but still with difficulty. Because of his remote residence, he has not been able to participate in regular physiotherapy or other therapeutic care. His muscles are still very weak and frail.

The warmth of Spring has brought some relief for his state of mind and body. Now is a better time for exercise possibilities, better nutritional food and physical comfort.

He has lost an entire season of trapping and that has placed an immense strain on his income. He can no longer drive his ATV so there is an additional challenge.

🌟**From One Mountain to Another**

It was a typical rainy autumn day on Wednesday October 1, 2025 when my dad, Gregory "Greggo" Mutch of Dunster, British Columbia sustained a fall so severe it has left him facing major surgery for his broken right hip. The shock hit hard as he was rushed to Prince George, where he underwent a successful hip replacement. It's painful to see the man who once scaled mountains scaling back due to one unexpected mountain of a different sort!

The recovery will be tough—physically and emotionally. Greggo is now confined to his hospital bed; the coming days filled with pain management rather than hiking adventures. Winter will soon be settling in, which means not just cold but challenges that seem insurmountable: preparing the home for biting winds and heavy snowfall, a task he once took on with expertise!

This isn’t just about surviving another Rocky Mountain winter; it's about preserving Greggo’s spirit—that indomitable spirit which defines him. He loves nature, adventure, and being active outdoors working on his trapline. Right now he can't even roll over in bed or use the toilet. The chill of uncertainty about how to manage through these months ahead without support is frightening.
