Out from under the rock- Seeking stability-

Hi my name is Amber. I am a single mother to an 11-year-old boy. I also have a 22 year old son , as well as a 9 month old granddaughter. Those 3 people are reason.I get up each morning and relentlessly continue to try and rebuild my life. I will explain the circumstances that have led me to where I am today. I will do it in the shortest way possible. There is a lot that I won't be able to include. I hope I can help you to understand how the magnitude of circumstances over the last five years has greatly impacted my world.

I left my abuser in march of 2023 after ten years of severe narcissistic abuse

He told me he didn't love me anymore and his abuse started escalating. I had been with this man on and off for over twenty years , but we were together consistently for ten years before I finally left. He is the father of my younger son and he also helped raise my older son. It was extremely difficult for me to leave the situation.

I lived with him for 2 years after he told me he didn't love me because I had no other option. During that 2 years he acted as though he never broke my heart and ignored all conflict. .He continued on like we were a family until my older son started having problems. It was then the abuse began escalating , and I knew it was time to leave.

in the summer of 2021 my older son gave in to peer pressure and took what he thought was an average pain pill. It was actually fentanyl. I found out that he was using when his girlfriend overdosed in my living room. I administered cpr until paramedics came with narcan. They were able to revive her , but that day my whole life changed. My straight A honor roll student that had so many goals and dreams was now a full blown drug addict. He was always against drugs. He has overdosed 24 times in the last four years. For the first 2 years of his addiction I got up every hour on the hour all night long to make sure he was breathing. I had to keep him alive. I saved his life three times because of doing this. I would do hourly checks at night, take my younger son to school at 8 am, go home and sleep for 2 to 3 hours, work swing shift, come home and repeat this process. All while taking the verbal, mental and emotional abuse daily from the person that was supposed to be there for me and the man I loved.

Working became challenging and unstable. My son's mental health was extreme due to the drug abuse. He would cut his arms and send me pictures. It felt like every single day was an emergency. In washington at age 13, our kids make their own medical decisions. This made helping him impossible.I have saved his life 8 out of the 20 something times he's overdosed now. He has been in and out of treatment so many times I lost count and still battles his addiction today. I have developed severe p t s d due to having to administer c p r on him three times when he took too much for the narcan. The last time I revived him was a little less than a year ago when he overdosed twice in the same day. He recently began using after 9 months of sobriety. I feel like I've been in a constant state of fight or flight. As though I'm running from a mountain lion 24/7. Its exhausting.

I've dealt with severe parental alienation since moving out. After leaving my ex , I moved into an apartment and was working as a medication tech at a senior living facility. Shortly after starting one of my co workers began sabotaging me by removing my orders out of the computer and telling our supervisors that I didn't do my job. She would tell me that I did things I didn't do and that I didn't do things that I did do. She completely gas lit me on a level i've never experienced. It was clear that she was very jealous that the residents took favor in me. She made my life hell. For 5 months I told management and all that did was make it escalate even further. Management did not believe me when I would tell them what was happening. They would go outside and smoke cigarettes with the girl that was doing this. They were all friends. It became unbearable. There was only one person I worked with that was on my side. Others saw what was happening and they knew the truth but they wouldn't stand up for me out of fear of being treated the same way. The residents even told management how I was being treated and nothing. The residents loved me and they did not want me to leave. They knew what was going on and they were so upset over it. I ended up contacting corporate , but unfortunately corporate wouldn't do anything about the problem either. They told me I didn't have to leave my job , but they also refused to fire the people that were tormenting me. In order to get a six week severance check I had to sign a stack of documents that I would not sue them. The way I was treated still bothers me today. I have not been able to find a job in health care since. I can't help but wonder if it's because of her.

After I was pushed out of my job , I was doing uber eats to try to make ends meet but it was never enough money. While delivering an order one night I totaled my car. There is a lot to this story but that night I got into a police car under the pretense of getting a ride home only to be held against my will and tormented by a Vancouver police officer. He also gave me a 900$ ticket. That ticket got dismissed because the officer was in the wrong but despite filing a complaint , nothing was done to the officer. Almost everything this officer told his superior was a lie , which tells me he knows he was in the wrong. Unfortunately his superior believed him and after not even doing a proper investigation he closed out the complaint. This officer has since been promoted to sergeant and I guarantee he's still abuses his power today. This added a significant amount of trauma to my life. It was not only unfair , but absolutely disgraceful.

My apartment complex started retaliating against me for being poor I guesdssThey just didn't like me. They started overcharging me regularly and trying to kick me out for money that I didn't even owe. I informed them my neighbor s were smoking marijuana inside thief unit. It was coming through the ventilation system , making my unit smell like marijuana and causing me severe migraines. Instead of fixing the problem , management told my neighbors that I told on them. All of my neighbors called me a snitch and turned against me. Neighbor's threatened my safety, put used condoms on my patio multiple times along with other trash. Management bombarded me in the parking lot and accused me of almost running her over when I was nowhere near her, they gave me final notices without a first one and ultimately treated me the worst they possible could. I could've understand why. And essentially made life very difficult and uncomfortable. I had a few odd jobs , but nothing went right, ever, in any situation. I was trying to cope with I had a very challenging time holding employment After being turned down by counsel for the homeless for 6 months and calling over a hundred organizations/churches/etc I was able to find somebody up higher on the chain that forced them to help me stay in my apartment. After they paid 8000$ I had a positive balance of 1400$. A week later I was issued me a pay or vacate notice for a $125. They claimed it was a legal fee even though all of my legal fees had been paid. . Counsel for thee homeless knew that they were retaliating against me and I did not owe that money , but they still paid it for me. The 1400$ balance I had disappeared. They were so obvious about what they were doing , but there was nothing I could do about it.

My neighbor's began tormenting me after I told the office they were smoking marijuana inside of their unit. The office told them that I was the one that told on them and didn't fix the problem even though it was a non-smoking community. . so I wouldn't have to worry about it. They ,
