There I was, standing on my porch, just trying to hold it all together as a single mom… when I got the news.

My 14-year-old son Matthew was selected for the All American Soccer Team.

I was proud… but if I’m being honest, I was overwhelmed too.

Because people see the opportunity… but not the struggle behind it.

The years of sacrifices.

The practices, the missed moments, the times I had to figure it out with nothing but faith.

Now he has the chance to go to London and compete internationally… and I don’t want him to miss it because I can’t do it alone.

I’m doing everything I can—but I need help.
