Help provide a New Home for Vietnam Veterans Widow

As I walked through my mother's home, a wave of gratitude washed over me. This was more than just a house; it was the place where countless memories were born—memories of laughter, love, and comfort. But as I stood there, looking around at the peeling paint and fragile walls, a stark reality hit me: my mom's home, once a sanctuary, had become a shelter in need of urgent care. It wasn't just about fixing up one room or even a single wall—it was about restoring dignity to every corner where she has lived so bravely and independently for decades. She’s the widow of a Vietnam veteran, who passed after battling one illness after another, with my mother always by his side, fighting with, and for him; her home should be as strong, resilient, and secure as she is! But life has taken its toll on this little sanctuary tucked away in rural central Texas, and it needs our help.

There are gaping holes in the roof that lets wind, rain, and the occasional animal inside; a bathroom with running water was nothing more than a pipe dream for my mom who now struggled to manage daily activities due to health issues caused by old age—a cruel irony, I know. The septic system had been damaged and needs to be totally replaced, her well, needs to be redrilled, and her driveway is slowly turning into the Grand Canyon. This wasn’t just about fixing a few leaks or resealing some cracks anymore; it was crucial for my mom's well-being—physically, emotionally, mentally. She deserves to live without constantly worrying if her home would crumble around her. That’s why I turned to all of you today—because there are times we need a little bit more than just love and support, especially when it comes to our loved ones. This is one such moment for my mom, and I believe that together, we can make her story a happy chapter filled with warmth, comfort, and the laughter she so richly deserves in her golden years. We as Christians are called to help the widows and the orphans. And especially as the wife of a war hero, she deserves to live her last years in peace and security.

Here’s what donating and sharing this campaign means: It could mean new walls standing tall against storms, new lighting illuminating dark corners of worry, running water that never runs dry—not even during winter freeze or summer heat waves. It’s about giving my mom the home she earned through her years of service and sacrifice; it’s about bringing back a sparkle in her eyes which had dimmed under the weight of disrepair.

With the donations we plan to:

  1. Remove the old mobile home
  2. Fix the road so we can bring in a new one
  3. Fix her well
  4. Fix the septic tank
  5. Get rid of all the dead trees and cedar so we can bring in the new house
  6. Make a concrete slab for the house
  7. Down-payment on new mobile home

I know its a lot to do. But I believe God will provide. If you can give anything, I would appreciate it. Even if its just leaving a prayer, or encouraging word.

Click 'Back this project' if you share my vision for making every day brighter for my mom, especially as she is someone who have given so much to me already! Again, even if you can't give monetarily, leave a prayer or words of support. Both my mom and I both believe in the power of prayer. Let’s turn today into something beautiful—something she can be proud to call home again.
