My husband Cameron has been living with a severe, progressive, and disabling illness for the past ten years. What began as unexplained symptoms slowly took over his body, his ability to work, and our everyday life. His health has deteriorated to the point where he lives with constant pain, extreme fatigue, and severe reactions to food, movement, and even treatments that are meant to help.

Last year, Cameron tried desperately to return to work. He secured a government role and pushed through significant pain, neurological symptoms, and exhaustion in an attempt to regain stability. His health declined rapidly, and he was forced to leave the position. He later tried again by doing delivery work, managing to work for around six months before his body collapsed completely.

Since then, his condition has worsened significantly. He is now unable to work, often unable to help around the house, and at times unable to function at all. The fatigue is crushing, the pain is constant, and sleep is severely disrupted or absent without some kind of medication. Even the smallest daily tasks can trigger setbacks that take days to recover from.

One of the most frightening aspects of Cameron’s illness is his inability to properly eat or digest food. Food has passed through his body undigested, increasing all of his symptoms every time he tries to eat anything new. He can now tolerate only steamed potatoes raising serious concerns about malnutrition, dehydration, and ongoing physical decline. Despite years of seeking help, we still have no answers.

Caring for Cameron at home through trial and error is no longer safe without proper medical oversight.

We have spent years seeking help through the public, private, and alternative health systems. We have attended appointments, followed recommendations, and advocated persistently. Again and again, we have been denied comprehensive testing or meaningful treatment and told to pursue private care at our own expense. This now appears to be our only remaining path to answers.

Funds raised are urgently needed to cover private medical testing, specialist consultations, supervised care and monitoring, supportive therapies, and basic living expenses while Cameron is unable to work. Our immediate priority is stabilisation and proper investigation before his condition deteriorates further.
