My grandson William, who is mentally challenged, was recently coerced into saying derogatory things — including a racially insensitive remark. This is not reflective of William’s true character or normal attitude. He was manipulated into believing it was “funny,” recorded, and used to cause harm.  

This has left William embarrassed and confused, and it has deeply affected our family both emotionally and financially. We’ve faced unexpected costs for counseling, legal consultations, and lost work time, which has placed a heavy burden on us.  

We want to be clear: we do not support the behavior William was pushed into. We support William himself — helping him learn, grow, and become better. Our goal is to turn this painful moment into a message of compassion and awareness: harassment can take many forms, and vulnerable individuals deserve protection and guidance.
