Hi, my name is Diane. I am 54 years old, and I just had a stroke. I am a wife and mother to 2 grown boys. I achieved sobriety 6.5 years ago and lost almost everything, including my kids. I am grateful help was there for me when I needed it most. I went back to school at 48 and graduated with above a 4.0 GPA with my AS in medical assisting. I say that only to show that I have always worked very hard and I don't enjoy asking for help. I am, however, left with no choice. God has been with me every time I needed help these past 6.5 years, and I am hoping this will help us through this.

My husband is a long haul trucker. At the end of September, he decided to sell his truck so we would have money to get our own place and he could get a newer truck. He found a buyer but on Oct. 3rd, I had a pontine hemorrhage, or hemorrhagic stroke. Thankfully my roommate got me help very fast, but I am still damaged. My face and mouth are numb, my left eye sees but not clearly, everything is double and my right side is numb and deficient. I am right handed, so this is an issue. It is stiff and doesn't want to move. I am also now on insulin and I am trying to eat the diet they told me too, but it is expensive!! I am getting better with the therapy but we are fast running out of money and I haven't seen all of the doctors yet. I do not know when I can or will be able to go back to work. My husband no longer has a truck, so he's not working either. He obviously can't get a job without an address and without having me set and looked after. We have our oldest son with us, who will be my caregiver once we get a home.

My husband only got around $36,000 for his truck, and he got to me around Oct, 8th. I was released from rehab on Oct. 21st. They have been in a hotel since the 8th and we moved to a bigger room to accommodate me on the 21st. We have already spent $7000 since then and it's Nov. 1st. We have a good offer on a mobile home that has been accepted, but we are waiting for the trailer park to approve us, and we will be down $16,000 for that. Then we still have to move and settle and try to figure thing out.

We already had a good amount of debt from 6.5 years ago, about $100,000.00 worth and our medical bills are not going to stop. This is very hard for me. I humbly ask anyone who can help to please help me. Please don't think less of me for asking. I really have no where else to turn. Thank you and may God Bless you always.
