I fell victim to a renter’s scam in early 2024, the real owner showing up with eviction papers. The irony? That glimmer of hope that had just begun to shine so brightly was snuffed out as swiftly and unexpectedly as my home went up in flames. It's disheartening when misfortune strikes twice—not at your hands but on a path you were led down under false pretenses.

As I stand now, amidst the remnants of what little belongings survived the fire, there’s an undeniable sense of determination brewing inside me. Despite everything life has thrown my way in recent years, it's this resilience that keeps pushing me forward—the same spirit that will rebuild and regain a semblance of normalcy despite insurmountable odds.

I don’t blame her for the predicament I find myself in; no one should feel guilty for taking advantage of someone vulnerable (me). It was my misfortune, not hers. But now, as life demands yet another adjustment from me—this time financially—my spirit is willing but my wallet...well, it has other plans.
