Please Help Our Sister Fight Cancer and Make Her Home Safe Again

Update from Carole: August 2026: After receiving a new titanium femur back in May it was discovered that the cancer had affected both femurs and a few spots on my pelvis, ribs and spine. My new medical oncologist ordered genetic tests to see if there was anything we could target. While we waited for test results, we started with bone strengthening infusions and I had one round of chemo. The test results indicated that I may benefit from a particular immunotherapy and I had my first infusion of that today. I will continue with that about every 3 weeks and then we will retest sometime in the future. In the meantime, I also began working with an integrative oncologist who works alongside traditional treatment to address the underlying metabolic issues that made my body conducive to cancer growth. I have had lessening pain since I started that treatment as well as increased strength. I am following a vegetarian diet to give my body all the nutrients it needs to heal. I am avoiding all pork products but I can have eggs, some dairy and eat around meat in stew/stir-fry type meals. I thank you so much for the care and feeding of my family and for all your prayers. Our dear sister Carole, mother to 10 and grandmother to Andrew, is currently battling cancer with incredible courage. She has completed radiation treatments and is preparing for surgery. But the mounting medical costs are beyond what they can afford, so we are reaching out to our community for help!

In addition to the coming cancer treatments, Carole’s house has been found to have dangerous mold, making it unsafe for her to live in during this critical time. In order for her to return home after surgery and continue her recovery, the mold must be professionally removed and the air tested. She needs a clean, healthy space to heal, and without it, her recovery will be even more difficult and risky.

Her husband has put his work on hold to focus on repairing the home himself, doing all he can to save money. But the cost of professional mold remediation and testing is unaffordable on their own. Combined with medical bills and the loss of income, it’s  too much.
