Help Me Reach University After Years of Waiting

My name is Ngakule Barbora, a proud young man from the Suri-Kachipo tribe of South Sudan. I am a first-generation student, coming from a family where no one has ever had the chance to go to school.

My parents are completely illiterate — not because they did not value education, but because war, poverty, and displacement took that opportunity away from them. I grew up watching them struggle with simple daily tasks like signing documents, reading medicine labels, or understanding official papers. Despite this, they always told me:

“We cannot read, but we pray that you will.”

Their dream became my dream.

South Sudan is a country with many challenges. Years of conflict, economic hardship, poverty, and limited access to quality education have made it extremely difficult for young people to pursue higher learning. For many families like mine, education is not just a goal — it is a rare opportunity that can change an entire generation.

💔 Why I Started This Campaign

I worked hard to complete my secondary education at Darling Wisdom Academy in 2020, hoping to become the first person in my family to attend university — a moment that would transform our future forever.

But today, the greatest obstacle standing in my way is financial hardship.

My family cannot support my education. We live day-to-day, and sometimes even basic needs like food are a struggle. As the only educated person in my household, I carry not only my own hopes but also the dreams of my entire family and community.

After coming this far, it is painful to imagine stopping now simply because of a lack of financial resources.
