My friend Janice Bay has a fairly rare disease called Dercums and Lipo Lymphedema  collectively known as 4 Lipo edema advanced stage.Meaning her skin is beginning to split and become infected.we've tried to get her insurance to cover a walk in tub large enough for full immersion therapy, but its such a rare condition, that there is no coverage for it.She does have the Compression boots,but they no longer fit her due to the enlarged legs and feet.They don't make any sizes bigger.She is rapidly becoming unable to walk or take care herself, and its breaking my heart.She lives alone,with her kids coming by every few days.They have to drive over 50 miles to do so.Its a great strain on them.She has great difficulty just going to the bathroom. If she becomes unable to walk,her condition will rapidly progress to life threatening sores and infections. With a full immersion tub Therapy, I truly believe we can control and hopefully reduce her debilitating edema and get her at least some relief from the constant pain.She tried to describe it once,she likened it to a constant bad toothache through both her legs.They won't prescribe hard pain killers because they refuse to take on the liability. I really don't think it would be very effective anyway. She's a super tough Alaskan lady,but I can see the constant pain she's in.She lies and says its not so bad compared to child birth.But i see the constant pain and how its draining her energy and normally positive attitude.On a bad day She can be a real savagely verbally abusive,But later she cries and begs to apologize.Pain changes even the nicest of us.I really want to do something to relieve at least some of that pain and help her be able to move more freely.Thank you,and I truly appreciate any help you can give.
