2 million. That's how many Ghanaian children skip school and work instead. And we're not just talking about teenagers here. We're talking about little people--we're talking about 5 year olds and 6 year olds. To be exact, the Department of Labor reported that children ages 5-17 are subjected to the worst forms of child labor in Ghana including cocoa production, forced herding, and gold mining.

The percentage of child labor is higher in rural areas. That's why my husband, Isaac Attipoe, founded Apex Dynamic School in 2012. He and I (Julia), work together to give students the opportunity to attend school. 

Apex Dynamic School is a private institution serving students in preschool through junior high school. The word “apex” means the highest point of achievement and “dynamic” means characterized by constant change. We are dedicated to helping students achieve their highest goals and to teaching them how to adapt to new changes so that they will prosper in their adult life and career.

We need a proper school building. When it rains, it pours, and we have to stop instruction early.  We need proper chairs, desks, and boards too.

We set a fundraising goal of $1,000 per month until we reach our goal of $10,000 for Phase 1 of our building project. Consider donating so that children in rural Ghana can avoid child labor and continue attending our school.
