Started out in January with my daughter having emergency brain surgery. She wound up getting staph in her brain, which caused seizures. Then in March, my mother-in-law was pulled off the porch steps by the dog while trying to walk him and snapped her ankle out of socket, breaking the bone in three spots. She had to have emergency surgery and then was put in rehab for two months. Then in April, I myself had to have brain surgery for congenital Chiari malformation that had my spinal canal pinched down so much I had no cerebral fluid to the dorsal and ventricle cavities.

We now have COVID and pneumonia in the home. All adults have lost income. Our tags are out, my driver's license expired in June of 2024, and the insurance on the vehicle is out. We have no income and no jobs due to the year full slapped at us like the book of Job. Everyone says hand it to God or wants to criticize us. We have been hard-working people trying to raise four kids—three teens and one 10-year-old—and we can't seem to get out of the rut.
