I am David. I am a disabled senior citizen former Marine. I was hit with tornadic winds in excess of 90mph on Tuesday the 28MAR24 at 0630. I had been awake about 10 minutes siiting in the living room when then tornado sirens went off. I grabbed my two pooches Mousse and Ronin and hunkered down in the mid-house hallway when it hit with a thud as that 65 foot Elm tree slash through my home and destroyed my back two bedrooms and just about everything in it. The foundation is cracked along with cracked joists and walls. The electrical service has been ripped from the house. It is a older home so the home has to be rewired. The root bulb is sticking up 5 foot with concrete driveway. It still has 3 foot of stump attached. I have 4 trees to be removed. 2 of them are the same size as the one out front. I need to rent a storage unit to empty the home so all the drywall can be stripped. I do not have enough insurance coverage for that kind of MAJOR damage. The wood is now getting moldy. I had water in both bedrooms. I had more ceiling cave in yesterday. I am afraid they will/are to condem it because of mold that is starting to appear. It has been raining all week since the 28th, with more to come this week and beyond compounded by the Texas summer heat. My disabilities are that I have 4 pins in my legs since I was 21 yesrs old, a hip replacement 4 years ago and I had to put my left shoulder replacement surgery on hold. I cannot lift my arm, due to a fall. A 68 year old Marine here who has not really asked anyone for help, is asking my fellow Americans, family, and friends to help me in this time of crisis.
