Hi my name is Stephanie and I’m seeking funding to start Sacred Heart Studios: an art, nature, and mindfulness studio offering online, to start, expressive recovery services; including nature and mindfulness videos, art as therapy video exercises and 1:1 coaching, and guided audio meditations. My dreams are big so as the studio grows, I hope to offer online and in person workshops and classes that combine both mindfulness practices and expressive arts.

I truly feel called by God to start this, to help others the way he has shown and guided me to use art to recover from years of complex ptsd. During the pandemic, like many, everything bubbled to the surface and in the process I lost it all. I have spent the last four years struggling to overcome what feels like a lifetime of trauma. Through Gods grace, art, nature, his reminder to abide in his presence and sit with him as a form of recovering, as well as the kindness of others; I have been able to recover and come to a place where I need to share it with others.

I am asking for help.

My hope is to take all that I’ve learned in college getting my masters degree in Art Therapy, and my own life experience, to show others how they can use these methods in their own process. No matter what stage of the journey they are in. 

A phrase often heard during this time for me was to be a light in dark places. I hope to turn this studio into something meaningful that offers others a safe space to create and connect; a place that is a beacon of light and hope, a source of warmth, compassion, and support- one of community, creativity, and healing. 

I will use funding to:

formally establish the business,

Create a website and platform for classes, 

Marketing, insurance, and all the necessary paperwork to get off the ground

Art materials and equipment for the studio

Actual physical studio space (not my apartment) to work from and eventually meet people in person.
