Dear Friends,
My good friends Jon & Lisa Garrison, have provided me with the privilege to become a family friend and share in the joys and sorrows that friends share when life brings pleasure and pain. Hence I have been made aware of several major events that have transpired in the lives of the Garrison Family over the last several months in particular – each of which would be a heavy burden on its own.
In addition to the common ups and downs of parenting and raising a family to love the Lord, Lisa and Jon have been struggling through some extreme financial hardships due to a lack of steady well-paying employment steaming from the time commitment of the medical obligations to their boys. One such obligation… Jon and Lisa were told several months ago that a tumor (which had been removed in March 2021) is now regrowing in the brain of their little 7-year-old son, Jameson. This has already necessitated hospital stays and testing procedures. The tumor has been causing Jameson to have major grand mal seizures. These seizures have been severe enough to lead to ambulance calls, emergency room visits, and overnight hospital stays. The newest discussion is about the possibility of having a second brain surgery to remove the damaged area of the brain causing seizures and tumor growth. This will ensue more hospital stays, doctor's visits, and testing.
While all that is going on their oldest son has also been enduring hospital stays and Lisa and Jon are pursuing the need to go to Mayo Clinic in Minnesota for diagnostic testing that Children’s Wisconsin does not have; these medical needs are currently far from over.
In addition to this and a compilation of other difficult circumstances, their only working vehicle was totaled in a car accident this past Christmas Eve, resulting in a long hassle with insurance and ultimately needing to replace the vehicle. I could share more stories… but these are some of the bigger needs right now.
I am laying this situation open to you today because I have confidence that together, as part of the Body of Christ, we can come alongside another Christian family and be the hands and feet of Jesus, showing His love to them by sharing their burdens as best as we can. Nothing would make me happier this month than to be able to help this wonderful family meet their financial needs and take one trouble off their mind so they can focus on helping their children with the medical attention that they currently need and will be needing over the next several months.
I want to thank everyone in advance who is able to help the Garrisons financially, even if it is a tiny amount like the poor widow’s two small coins, which were noticed by Jesus Himself in Luke 21:1-4. Even just a few dollars will be a blessing to them and help them buy groceries, pay their rent, provide for gas to get to appointments, and meet the ever-increasing amount of bills. And don’t forget to keep them in your prayers (even if you are unable to contribute financially at this time, prayers help).
Thank you again for your kindness and your prayers. May God bless you and your family, this day and always.
Christian
