Make Masks Optional

Campaign Created by: Levana Lomma

The funds from this campaign will be received by Levana Lomma .

Goal: USD $25,000
Raised: USD $ 5,512

The governor of the state of Hawaii has ended mandatory indoor masking as of March 26, 2022 and has declared that the Covid-19 emergency is over. The CDC has has also stated it is now safe to unmask the children in our schools, yet the Department of Education is enforcing continued masking upon our school children, with very few exceptions.

Children continue to experience disproportionate restrictions, struggle with unprecedented challenges to social-emotional learning, and the costs are mounting. Shifting to a mask optional culture will enable focused protection while encouraging the success of our children.

Indefinite long term masking of the lowest risk demographic in our population has created an epidemic of mental health challenges that we are now only beginning to face.

As the voices of parents, healthcare professionals and concerned citizens continue to be ignored, For Our Rights is poised to take legal action to remedy the situation. We believe it is the responsibility of the parents to decide what is best for their child's health and that the Department of Education does not have the legal authority to override that right.

Please donate to the legal fund so we can finally put the power back in the hands of the people.

Disclaimer:  For Our Rights reserves the right to use funds received over and above the budget of the solicited purpose. If the Hawaii Department of Education updates their policy, obviating the need for a lawsuit the funds solicited through this campaign will be put into the general fund for operating expenses and/or

Thank you all so much for your donations to the cause! We believe that our threats of a lawsuit have paid off! As of August 1st, 2022 masking indoors in our public schools will become optional. We have invested most of this funding into preparing the lawsuit, which we will keep on hand in case anything changes over the school year. but any leftover funding will be placed in our general fund. We are also looking at bringing a new lawsuit to end the mandatory weekly testing of our unvaccinated student athletes. Mahalo for your continued support of our mission to bring justice for Hawaii and to restore the balance of power between government  and the people!

Mahalo to all those who have helped us get to 25% of our goal - you are amazing! We still have a lot more funds to raise and hope that you will help us get there by sharing this campaign with your friends and family. While we initially felt a need to rush to get this lawsuit filed before the end of the school year and because students in summer programs are still being masked, we also know that doing things well takes more time. We have decided that we must add a handful of additional plaintiffs in order to ensure we can defeat any claims of lack of standing. We are currently seeking plaintiffs in order to complete the complaint and any interested parties should contact levana@forourrights.org

There is also very good reason to believe that the mask policy will remain in place at the start of the next school year unless we can get this lawsuit filed, so for those who may think our mission is pointless - think again! School districts across the country are already bringing back mask rules in many counties and the fear propaganda continues.

Our children continue to be subjected to the dangers of continued masking although data proves that mask mandates have had ZERO overall benefit. We MUST ensure that any mask wearing is made entirely optional for our keiki!

Aloha Freedom Fighters,

Thank you all so much for helping to make this happen. We have raised enough money to get started! Our team is currently drafting our lawsuit against the DOE in order to call for an emergency injunction and immediate STOP to the continued masking of our keiki. We are hopeful that we will be able to get this filed and heard in time to prevent our graduates from being forced to cover their smiles on graduation day. Your continued support of this campaign is so important. We will need to continue to raise funds in order to see this through. Thank you so much for donating and for continuing to share our mission with others through email and all of your social media accounts. Mahalo and God bless!!
